The Kite Runner
The book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, was one of my favoirte books that we read in AP Literature and Composition. It contained a different culture that we interesting to learn about and had important themes of love, reject, and making it through. I definitly felt like I could connect to some of the character and I repeatly found myself enveloped in the story--I would even read further then what we were assigned because I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone.

The Handmaid's Tale
When I think about a book from AP Literature and Composition that I would read again., I always think of The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. It is an incredible story of a woman transitioning into a new utopia/distopia. I think Utopian society books are extremely interesting to read which is why I loved this book so much. I also think Margaret Atwood is an amazing writer because she incorporated deep concepts that were delicately placed throughout the book. Spoiler Alert: you must read the little part after the ending because it will blow your mind. Don't skip it because you will miss out on some important details!

Merchant of Venice
For starters, I will say that I'm not a huge fan of plays-especially Shakespeare's plays because I have such a hard time understanding them. However, The Merchant of Venice definitely opened my eyes to a different view on Shakespeare. This was the first play that I have read that was a comedy and I enjoyed it much more than a tragedy, even though this book could have easily turned into a tragedy. I appreciate Shakespeare a lot more after reading this play because he created interesting characters that each had a sense of purpose. It was different than any of the other plays that I have read before and it has made me consider reading more of Shakespeare in the future.

A Doll's House
A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen is a creative twist on the image of men and women in society. It is a powerful book about the sterotypical view on marriage and thati's why I enjoyed it so much--it's an interesting story with a deeper message. I really liked the message that Ibsen was trying to get across about men and women in marriage and I liked how he incorpated that message within the two lively characters of Toravald and Nora. This was the first modern play that I have read and I really enjoyed it--especially acting it out in class; that added a lot to the play.
